January, 2012 Newsletter

 January, 2012

The Commissioners of the Village of Chester wish all the very best for the coming year to the Residents and Businesses in the Village of Chester!

 Please note:

We have moved from our location upstairs over the Fire Hall to 41A Queen St.  Feel free to drop in and visit!  Another bit of news we would like to share is our new web site:  villageofchester.org. Please come visit us there too!

You will be happy to know that we will be continuing with our weekly green bin pick up during the summer months.  Some residents have expressed interest in being on a mailing list to receive notice of when the program will start and when it will end.  If that is something you would like, please send us your email to [email protected]. Or if you still prefer picking up your notice at the post office, give our office a call and leave your mailing address.  Our phone number is 275-4482.  You may also like to receive notices about our monthly meetings as well.

As you may have noticed, we have replaced all the Village streetlights with LED.  Early indication is that the savings are in the area of 66 – 73% each month for the electricity required.

We look forward to receiving any comments you may have and encourage you to come express your thoughts at our monthly meetings, held every second Wednesday of the month @ 7:00pm, upstairs over the Fire Hall.  Our meeting in February will have as our guest speaker, Geoff McDonald, Planning Director with the Municipality of the District of Chester.  Geoff will be speaking on the progress of providing water to the village.  We look forward to hearing from Geoff and to seeing you there.

Yours truly,

Brenda Mulrooney, Chair

Billy Zinck Jr, Vice Chair

Jo-Ann Grant, Commissioner

Tom Mulrooney, Commissioner

Michael Heisler, Commissioner
